A review of "A New World" CD by NZ group Le Kiwi:
 
"This highly original instrumental CD of 12 songs is by NZ composer / musician Doug Thomas, who disappeared from the music scene in the early 70s & like his music  -  to mysteriously emerge only recently.
 
His music can best be desribed as ambient mystic music with semi Latin feels & rhythms using unusual chord structures & changes.  Guests on it include world class guitarist, Harvey Mann, Like Thomas, from the hugely successful Kiwi group Underdogs to three highly talented young Taranaki musicians Brian Hatcher, Sheldon Healey & Joe Smither.
 
Instruments include keyboards, cellos, oboes, harpsichord, harp, French horns, Spanish & electric guitars to Latin percussion & strings to make this a highly recommendable album which will surely become a collectors item.  Talented South African keyboard legend Mike McCarthy plays throughout & produced & arranged the entire CD.  He is also credited with co-writing some of these songs with Thomas.  This music stirs the soul.....& is a must buy for anyone that likes something very different."
