Doug Thomas

A short history of Doug Thomas:

After leaving school he went into the music industry full time & played drums in top New Zealand groups during the 60's, such as The Breakaways with Midge Marsden, Auckland groups Le Frame & Underdogs with Murray Grindlay, Harvey Mann & Lou Rawnsley before going to Australia & joining Kiwi group in Sydney, Hamul with well know Auckland musicians Evan Silva, Max Wolfgramm, "Sea Eel" Neil Edwards the legendary & current owner of Ponsonby blues hangout "Java Jive", Mike Wilson & Christchurch ace guitarist Tim Piper who later played with Renee Geyer & other top Australian singers & bands.

He left the music industry in 1972 & entered the Audio industry where he had successful importing wholesale companies until three years ago when he sold the businesses & worked full time composing music after spending the previous three years off & on in Los Angeles with local LA legend, Arthur Lee of "Love" group fame, as his business advisor. He also composed songs with the now Auckland based Ronald La Pread of the American Tamla Motown band The Commodores (records sales well in excess of 100 million) & acknowledges both their strong influences in his song writing.

Ambient mystical instrumental music for the New Millennium & beyond. This uniquely original music composed by Doug Thomas reflects his deep spiritual & mystical Christian experiences as well as his epic journey to esoteric Taranaki, New Zealand locations.

Doug has established a new recording band 'Le Kiwi', which has just released a CD called 'A New World'.
